LatinaStrong® and the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) are joining forces to host the 2nd Annual Health Equity Summit on September 23, 2023. This summit will serve as a peer-to-peer educational platform for health professionals and community leaders to come together and address various topics related to health equity. Among the subjects to be discussed are brain health, value based care, social determinants of health, access to care, behavioral health, cultural care models, and other innovative and emerging models of care that promote equity in Latino communities.
LatinaStrong Scholar Benefits
As a LatinaStrong Scholar you will be a member of our community and be eligible to receive a scholarship depending on available funds.
10 scholars are selected based on merit. Award amounts are $1,500 each.
-U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA
-Plan to pursue a career in any health education program
-Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate student
-Enrolled or plan to enroll part-time or full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school in the US, for the 2023-2024 academic year
-Scholars will donate 20 hours of volunteer work with LatinaStrong or LatinaStrong partner events.
